Toyota IQ EV

Toyota presents an interesting version of its iQ city car, powered entirely by electricity, which however, for now, are not available for sale, the brand is between clients studies and the lack of an infrastructure for charging the cars, this limit commercialization.

By using a smaller battery, Toyota had to optimize several aspects of the car to minimize power consumption. Among them, the use of a heat pump, low power consumption and high efficiency air conditioning, or a windscreen with an independent heating system.

Moreover, its design has been modified to improve the aerodynamics and, likewise, reduce the power consumption. The front grill is replaced by a panel, in which, under a cover, the outlet is placed recharging.

Its measures are virtually the same as the standard version of the model. Only 135 mm more in total, keeping the height, width and wheelbase. Due to their size and distribution, is one of the most practical cars on the market and feasible and has enough room for four passengers.

The Toyota IQ EV propulsion system is an evolution of the famous Hybrid Synergy Drive , but with a 47 kW engine and 163 Nm as the sole energy source. It accelerates from 0-100 km / h in just 14 seconds and has a top speed of 125 km / h. Its range is about 85 km, a distance that allows daily urban use.
