Winston Churchill Land Rover sold for £ 129,000

There are classic cars that, regardless of their age, have a story behind that gives them great value on the market. This is the case of the Land Rover Series 1 that the British brand has offered to Winston Churchill in 1954 on the occasion of his eightieth birthday.

In his few moments of leisure Churchill, enjoyed walking his property in Chartwell in his Jeep that will inspire Land Rover years later, to create the famous Land Rover Defender.

On his death in 1965, the SUV came to Christopher Soames, British politician and theson-in-law of Churchill, who kept it until 1973, in 1967 decided to sell it at an auction of old cars for only 160 pounds.

Now the Land Rover Series 1 with which Winston Churchill walking through his property, and that has only 12,932 miles, was sold at auction at Cheffins Vintage Kent for no less than £ 129,000 to an anonymous classic cars colector.
